Royal Indian wedding portraitPlan, preview and celebrate your wedding look
An Indian wedding is many events, each with its own outfit, colour and mood: the haldi, the mehendi, the sangeet, the baraat, the pheras or nikah, the vidaai and the reception. Brides and grooms spend months choosing outfits and planning shoots. Wedding AI photo prompts help in two ways. Before the wedding, they let you preview outfits, colours and settings on your own face. After it, or as a guest, they let you create beautiful wedding-style photos for posts and memories.
The prompts here cover North and South Indian, Bengali, Sikh and Christian weddings, plus the classic Indian pre-wedding settings: palaces, forts and beaches. Each one names the outfit, the jewellery, the ritual and the light, so the result feels like a real wedding photographer's shot.
How to use wedding prompts in Gemini and ChatGPT
- Pick a ceremony or look from the grid above and copy the prompt.
- Open Gemini or ChatGPT and tap + to upload a clear photo. For bride-and-groom scenes, use one photo of both of you with your faces clearly visible.
- Paste the prompt and send it.
- Change outfit colours to match your plans, for example "a pastel peach lehenga with silver zari" or "an ivory sherwani with a maroon safa".
- Save the results that you like and share them with your designer or photographer as a mood board.
Ceremony by ceremony
Haldi and mehendi
Haldi ceremony joy captures the yellow, laughter-filled mess of a haldi morning. Mehendi ceremony shows the bride with intricate henna and marigold decor. These are the most candid, colourful events, so prompts ask for a wedding-photographer style rather than stiff poses.
Sangeet
Sangeet dance puts you on a stage with lights and family cheering. It is a fun one for the whole friend group.
Baraat and entry
Groom baraat horse shows the groom on a decorated horse with the band and dancing relatives. Bridal entry under phoolon ki chadar recreates the much-loved moment of the bride walking under a sheet of flowers held by her brothers.
The ceremony
Royal Indian wedding portrait is our most copied wedding prompt, with rich lehenga, sherwani and palace light. Pheras by the fire and Varmala moment capture the key rituals of a Hindu wedding. Sikh Anand Karaj is set in a gurdwara with kalire and sehra. South Indian wedding uses a Kanjeevaram saree, a veshti and a flower-decorated mandap. Bengali bride portrait has the red-and-white saree, mukut and chandan design. For a church ceremony, see Christian white wedding.
Vidaai
Vidaai emotional captures the bride throwing rice over her shoulder as she leaves home, one of the most emotional moments of a North Indian wedding.
Tips for wedding AI photos
- Name your community's details. Kalire for a Punjabi bride, a nath for a Maharashtrian bride, a mukut for a Bengali groom, temple jewellery for a Tamil bride. These small details make it look like your wedding.
- Try colours side by side. Run the same prompt with two or three outfit colours to compare before shopping.
- Both faces for couple scenes. Use one sharp photo of both of you in daylight. If one face changes, reply "keep both faces exactly as in the photo".
- Hands and jewellery. Mehendi hands and bangles are hard for AI. If they look off, reply "natural hands, clear mehendi pattern".
- Wedding guest looks. Not the bride or groom? Change "bride" to "wedding guest" and pick a lighter outfit, or use Wedding guest photo in the realistic section.
Pre-wedding ideas
Palaces in Rajasthan, the lakes of Udaipur, Goa beaches, Kerala backwaters, hill stations and old forts are the classic pre-wedding locations. The couple prompts include Couple pre-wedding palace and many travel scenes that work as pre-wedding ideas. Use them to decide on a location and a style before you book a shoot.
A note on photos of family members
Wedding scenes often include parents, siblings and grandparents. Always ask before you use someone else's photo, and keep elders' photos respectful. If you want family in the frame, upload one clear photo of everyone and keep the group small, so every face stays accurate.
Frequently asked questions
Can I try bridal lehenga looks on my photo with AI?
Yes. Copy a bridal prompt, upload a clear photo, and name the lehenga colour and embroidery you are considering. Run it a few times with different colours to compare.
Can AI make a wedding photo of both of us?
Yes. Upload one clear photo of both of you and use a bride-and-groom prompt. Both faces stay the same when they are sharp and well lit in your photo.
Are there prompts for different Indian wedding traditions?
Yes. There are Punjabi, Sikh, Bengali, South Indian, North Indian and Christian wedding looks, and you can adapt any prompt with your own community's outfit and jewellery.
Can I use these images as wedding invitations?
They work well for save-the-date posts and digital invites. Add the names and dates yourself in an editor, since AI often misspells text.
